PRIVACY POLICY  

The Integrated Logistics Company Pty Ltd (ILC) is bound by the Privacy Act (Cth) 1988 (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

 

ILC respects the privacy of individuals. This Policy sets out how ILC collects, stores, uses and discloses personal information.

 

What is personal information?

As defined by the Privacy Act, "personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

(a) whether the information or opinion is true or not; and

(b) whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

 

The types of personal information we collect.

Examples of personal information ILC may collect include your name, postal and residential address, email address, landline and mobile telephone numbers, date of birth, job title and career history.

 

In relation to job applications, ILC may also collect current and past employment information, educational qualifications and membership of professional associations, and name and contact details of referees.

 

How we collect your personal information?

The personal information which ILC collects and holds will depend on the nature of your interaction with us. We collect personal information about you in the following ways:

  • when you correspond with us via email, mail or telephone;

  • in person;

  • when you engage with our products and services, such as our supply chain models;

  • when you apply for a job with us; and

  • from third parties who are entitled to disclose that information to us.

 

We usually collect personal information when we deal with you directly.

 

If you do not provide the information requested by ILC, we may not be able to provide services to you or otherwise fulfil the purpose for which ILC has requested the information.

 

Cookies

We use cookies to monitor and observe your use of our website, compile aggregate data about that use, and provide you with a more effective service (which may include customising parts of our website based on your preferences and past activities on the website).  "Cookies" are small text files created and stored on your hard drive by your internet browser software, in order to hold relevant information about the web page you are currently viewing.  Most internet browsers have a facility that will allow you to disable cookies altogether – please refer to your browser’s help menu to find out how to do this.  While you will still be able to browse our websites with cookies disabled on your internet browser, some website functionality may not be available or may not function correctly.

 

 

Sensitive information

Sensitive information is information about you that reveals your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs or affiliations, membership of a professional or trade association, membership of a trade union, sexual orientation, or criminal record or information about you which is health information or genetic information or biometric information that can be used to identify you.

ILC will only collect your sensitive information where you have consented or where required by law. If ILC holds any sensitive information, we are required to only use or disclose it for the purpose for which it was provided, or other purposes permitted by law. If ILC asks for sensitive information, it will explain the reason for the request.

 

How we use and disclose your information

ILC uses the personal information that it collects for the purposes for which it was provided to ILC, to carry out ILC’s business purposes, to fulfil ILC’s legal obligations, other related purposes or as permitted or required by law. ILC’s purposes may include:

  • providing you with our products and services requested by you;

  • responding to questions, comments or complaints about us or our products and services;

  • communicating with you and to enhance and develop our relationship with you; and

  • screening and assessing applicants for employment.

 

ILC may disclose your personal information to service providers, agents, contractors and our strategic partners from time to time to help us carry out our functions. We generally do not disclose your personal information outside of Australia.

 

Storage and security

ILC is required to take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.  We use a variety of physical and electronic security measures which may include restricting physical access to our offices, firewalls and secure databases.

 

Access and correction

You have a right to request access to the personal information we hold about you.

However, before we provide you with access to your personal information, we may require verification of proof of identity. There is no charge to submit a request to correct or access your personal information, however, we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access to your personal information if your request requires substantial effort on our part. If ILC denies an access request, it will provide reasons for doing so.

 

If you believe that any of your personal information is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, please contact our Privacy Office.  On request, ILC will take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up to date, or will provide reasons for not doing so.

 

Complaints or further information

We recognise our responsibility for protecting your personal information. If you have a question about this Policy or wish to make a complaint about the way we have collected, used, held or disclosed your personal information, please contact our Company Secretary (contact details set out below). We may need to contact you for further details.

 

If you wish to make a formal complaint, please make your complaint in writing to our Company Secretary. We will consider your complaint promptly and contact you to seek to resolve the matter. You are also entitled under the Privacy Act to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, such as if we have not responded to you within a reasonable time or if your concerns are not resolved to your satisfaction.

 

Changes to this Policy

ILC may amend this Policy from time to time, and the amended Policy will be published on ILC’s website. Please review ILC’s website periodically for changes to this Policy.
